Biotransformation with cloned enzyme library

Biotransformation is enzyme-catalyzed reaction. An enzyme is a catalyst made of protein, which is produced by a microbe. As a catalyst, enzymes can be an alternative to conventional metal catalyst with several advantages:

High selectivity and low substrate specificity
  • Our cloned enzyme usually gives almost perfect selectivity in terms of enantioselectivity or stereoselectivity.
  • Enzyme work with a wide range of substrate where there is a similar substructure.

  • Similar process can apply for different enzyme. As a result, fewer scale-up issues can be expected than conventional chemical synthesis.
